iOS App Privacy Policy
Effective October 1, 2026
Information stored on your iPhone
BlackPyre stores the information you enter in local app storage. The native iOS app also maintains device-only recovery files and can create backup files in Files → On My iPhone → BlackPyre. Those app-owned files are excluded from automatic iOS/iCloud device backup. Deleting the app removes its local storage, Native Vault, BlackPyre folder, and backups kept only there. A copy you explicitly saved elsewhere remains wherever you placed it.
Apple Health data
Apple Health access is optional. If you choose to connect it, BlackPyre requests separate access to read body weight, active energy, steps, sleep duration, resting heart rate, heart-rate variability, workouts, and workout heart rate. BlackPyre may also request permission to write completed workouts that have a real recorded duration. You can allow or refuse each Apple Health data type.
Imported Health data stays on this iPhone. BlackPyre stores up to 90 days of daily totals or latest daily values and per-workout heart-rate averages and maxima. It does not store raw heart-rate samples, routes, or step timelines. The Health cache is separate from BlackPyre logs, excluded from iOS/iCloud device backup, never included in BlackPyre backup or recovery files, never used for advertising, and never sent to BlackPyre or another server. If the cache is lost, BlackPyre can read the source again from Apple Health.
Active energy is displayed separately from BlackPyre's estimate based on food and weight logs and never changes that estimate or your targets. To change or revoke access, open iOS Settings or the Health app, then review BlackPyre under Health access and devices. If an expected signal is missing, check whether the original watch, scale, or app is writing it to Apple Health.
Online food searches
When you search for a food or barcode, BlackPyre first downloads only the matching section of the versioned BlackPyre Food Catalog from GitHub over HTTPS. GitHub receives the request and ordinary network information such as your IP address. The catalog files contain source-identified USDA food records and no BlackPyre user information. If the catalog has no match, BlackPyre may send only the search words or barcode to Open Food Facts over HTTPS as a separately labeled fallback; Open Food Facts also receives ordinary network information such as your IP address. BlackPyre never sends your food log, name, targets, weight, training history, or saved corrections with either request. See GitHub's privacy statement and the Open Food Facts privacy information.
Camera and photos
The camera is used to scan food barcodes and, if you choose, to take a meal photo for an AI handoff you send yourself. Barcode recognition runs inside the app. BlackPyre does not upload camera images. A photo selected or taken for an optional AI handoff remains in memory until you share, clear, or finish the handoff; BlackPyre does not transmit it to an AI service.
AI copy/paste handoffs
BlackPyre never contacts an AI provider. It can prepare text or a selected photo for you to copy or share. Any transfer occurs only when you choose another app or service, and that service's privacy terms then apply.
External links and notifications
Exercise-video search opens YouTube with the exercise name in the search query. Research and legal links open the selected external website. Local notifications are used for rest timers only and are managed by iOS.
Membership purchases
BlackPyre uses Apple StoreKit for auto-renewable memberships. Apple processes the purchase, payment, renewal, cancellation, and purchase restoration through your Apple Account. BlackPyre receives only the product and entitlement information needed to determine whether the membership is active, in a billing grace period, expired, or revoked. BlackPyre does not receive or store your payment-card details, Apple Account password, or a BlackPyre login. Apple’s privacy terms apply to App Store transactions.
Backups, export, and deletion
Backup, training-plan, report, recovery, and diagnostic files are created only when you request them. They can contain sensitive personal information, so store them securely. Imported Apple Health data is never included in those files. To delete local information, open Settings → Data & recovery → Erase all BlackPyre data and confirm twice. Protected mode blocks destructive reset until recovery is resolved. Uninstalling the app also removes local data, including the device-only Health cache, but not copies you previously saved elsewhere.
Children
BlackPyre is intended for individuals ages 13 and older.
Changes and contact
This policy will be updated when BlackPyre's iOS data practices change. Developer: The Titan Builder LLC. For a privacy or support question, email blackpyrestrong@gmail.com. Do not send backup files or personal health, nutrition, or training information unless BlackPyre Support specifically requests it.
